So addicted!!  I love dottie angel...have you ever checked out her lovely blog.  The textiles and photos and creativity is just amazing.  She is GRANNY CHIC!  Some prettiness from her blog and shop.  Plus I just ordered her book and can't wait for the new one to come out.

These frocks are amazing...I want one!  Another thing I can't wait for her to start selling.

Plus I just added some new lampshades to my shop.  You can check them out here and I still have a few other ones I'll be listing shortly.

Transformations

Another gorgeous (hot) morning here in Southern California.  I've been working on a bunch of items for the shop and for the upcoming shows.  Some pretty paper flowers made from vintage book pages and other vintage paper ephemera I've been saving for awhile.
Then my sister gave me this candle awhile back and although I love the smell I don't really like the look of the candle itself so I added a bit of burlap, ephemera and some pretty paper flowers to help the candle blend into my "Craft Shack".

See how pretty!

In my "Craft Shack" I have this wall that you immediately see when you walk in the room and its blah!  It has a window in the center and then nothing flocking the windows.  So I decided to spruce the walls up a bit.  On one side I placed some much beloved photos of my sons and a pink chalkboard that I picked up at Matilda's Mouse this past weekend.

And on the other side I hung a tea towel I purchased from Brookish.  It's Mr. Darcy's proposal to Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice.  I bought it a couple of years ago and haven't been able to use it in my kitchen (fear of staining) so I took some twine and hung it up using some glittered clothespins I purchased from Candi Loves Paper.  I love the way it turned out and now I don't have to worry about my tea towel being ruined by use.

Now if I could only transform my weight as easily as my "craft shack" I'd be good to go.  I started Weight Watchers back in October and had a great beginning however now I'm in a slump.  Seems like everytime I turn around (with a fork in hand) there is another Birthday or Anniversary or Vacation.  This past two weeks I've been slowly getting back on track and working at another 15 by end of summer.  Anyone else ever feel like no matter how much they work at it they just can't seem to lose it?

Weekend Recap

Technically its still the weekend but as far as activities other than work go my weekend is over.  So perfect time for a little "Weekend Recap".

Friday my sister and I headed out to Valley Center to do a little shopping at Matilda's Mouse.  They had a vintage boat yard theme and it was gorgeous.  It was my first time on a Friday and it was packed...packed...packed.  My sister got an amazing chalkboard potting table with six colorful drawers.  My sister is planning on making it into a Lemonade Stand for my neice to sell.  Wish I'd gotten a picture of it however I only had my phone and it left me wanting in the good picture department.
Then Saturday my sister and I hit up the garage sale track.  Found some fun little things for the kids and a couple of stools for the home.  My sister scored with a nice large picture frame she's going to turn into a chalkboard.

This guy was outside one of the sales and I had to take a picture of him.  He was dancing like crazy and having such a good time!

Gifts of Love

I am so blessed in my life...God has given me so much to be thankful for...my darling boys, my loyal husband, my health, dear friends and so much more.
After harvesting a little bit from our garden, trees and chickens just reminded me of just some of the things God has given me.

My dear friend Pam recently gifted me with this adorable bird house.
So cute she used some of my favorite Stampin Up designer series paper (Springtime Vintage).
I placed it on my "craft shack" porch...however my pictures have quite a few shadows in them...they defintely don't do this birdhouse justice.
I'm a sucker for patterns and while I was junking he other day I found this British tray and had to have it.  So pretty!!!
I added a bit of lavendar that I'm drying hoping to create into some sachets.
When my husband and I were recently in London I fell in love with their tins and metalware.
Now I can't get enough of them and snach them up whenever possible.
Finished a few cards this week so far.
The first was my card for the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.
Used another of my favorite Stampin Up stamp, Kindness Matters and the new InColor Primrose Petals.
This card I created using some leftovers from another project.
It's just a cute little Fourth of July card that I'll be sending on.

Feeling Challenged

School is out for the summer and I'm defintely feeling challenged having my kiddos home everyday every hour every minute.  To top it of I just turned another year older, life is busy with well life and I've been in a creative slump this past week.  Today however I was able to catch up on my card creating!  Woo-hooo!!

Paper Pals Arts Color Challenge:
My Card:  my little inspiration from the Queen's Jubilee

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge:

My Card:  Created my own background with damp watercolor paper and a sponge dauber.  Loved using the new colors Midnight Muse & Raspberry.

Paper Players Color Challenge:
& Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

My Card:
I had a fun time creating this card...the colors were fun and orginally I didn't have the white strip but I decided it needed to have a bit of white somewhere else on the card instead of just on the ribbon.
